Thorpe Morieux and District Gardening Club

The Club was formed on 21st September 1992 when, at the instigation of Joan Breeze, a meeting was held at the Village Hall which 44 people attended, expressing an interest in forming a club.

The Club regularly holds plant sales, a garden party, an annual Members' Show and arranges coach outings as well as the traditional monthly meetings, with speakers, held at the Village Hall.

Past monthly meetings have covered ground cover plants, climbers, bulbs, fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. The Members have been shown how to plant baskets, tubs and containers, how to design a garden and how to restore a garden.

The Programme Secretaries have successfully hunted out a diversity of subjects ranging from "Alsace - Land of Geraniums"  to " Wokfuls of Vegetables".

For their Annual Subscription Members can obtain seeds at a discount, enter the annual show, attend the garden party and Christmas meal, and to come on one of the free trips to an RHS garden.

Thorpe Morieux and District Gardening Club is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society.
