Rambles and Walks GOOD
WALKING That’s a good green walk in winter and Summer along the field footpath from Almshouse Green to Valley Farm. Instead of crossing the land bridge we can go on up to the pine wood and over the wooden bridge using the newly signed path. Recently, someone has pulled off the yellow, Suffolk directional signs on posts at each end of the wood, though the ones in the middle are still in place. It’s another ten minutes to Bulls Wood which has everything: wild life, wild flowers, handsome trees and, on the last visit signs of hurdle-making by a conservation group. Or, walk down Bulls Wood lane. Crumbolds Lane seems to have disappeared, so it means walking down to Perry Down Lane, then to Cockfield, turning right up the High Street and right at The Old Rectory by the big green; thence to Palmers Farm. Go back to Bulls Wood and come out at Thorpe Green Lane. The views are excellent and it’s a pleasure to gently stroll the paths and roads. Good Walking!
